Members' Update February 2022 (revised version)

Jo and the OVC committee are delighted to announce our return to indoor Choir rehearsals commencing 24 February 2022 at 7.30pm and we very much look forward welcoming everyone back to the Muse building.

We are very aware that the impact of Covid19 on members varies from person to person and each of you must consider the health risks to yourself and decide if attending indoor rehearsals is right for you at this time.  With this in mind, and in additional to indoor Choir rehearsals (for a temporary period only and subject to a live trial – technical issues permitting) Jo will provide a live Zoom online option for members who want to be part of the Choir and sing whilst remaining at home.

Indications are that over the coming weeks the Government will announce relaxations to many of its current Covid19 restriction rules as the country now tries to return to some sort of new normal.   However, Covid19 has not gone away, and the Omicron variant remains highly contagious within the community and because of this we have decided that for now we will continue to take a sensible and precautionary approach and the Covid19 rehearsal attendance procedures detailed below will remain in place until further notice.  We will continue to monitor the situation and adapt our Covid19 procedures as and when appropriate. Please make sure that you are familiar with these Covid19 procedures before attending indoor rehearsals.

Remember, one of the precautionary tools available to everyone in keeping yourself safe, as well as those around you, are lateral (rapid) flow test and we would encourage wherever possible those individuals who come into contact with large groups of people on a daily basis through work or other activities to use these tests to check your infection status before attending rehearsals.

Please note there are 6 rehearsal weeks for this half term commencing 24 February 2022 and ending 31 March 2022 and the cost for attending this period is: for indoor rehearsals is £24.00 per person and online attendance £12.00 person.    Wherever possible please continue to use online banking for payments.

The Choir is currently looking to recruit additional volunteers to assist with the ongoing management of the Choir and to help with setting up the rehearsal room each week.  If you think you would be interested in this voluntary role please express your interest to either Patrick McGinn or Mandy West.

The Committee and Jo will meet again before the beginning of the Summer 2022 term and will provide a further update at this point.
